Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is crucial for maintaining healthy nerve cells and creating neurotransmitters. The brain is highly complex and requires certain nutrients to function properly. Without these nutrients, the brain can atrophy or shrink, leading to depression, confusion, or even schizophrenia. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) helps promote the development of red blood cells that carry oxygen to the brain. Neurotransmitters like Serotonin and Dopamine are used by the nervous system to send messages between nerve cells. Vitamin B12 helps to enhance the production of these neurotransmitters. By stimulation the production of neurotransmitters, Vitamin B12 helps to prevent brain atrophy or the loss of neurons in the brain which leads to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s or memory loss, and other forms of dementia.
